Rabbi David

Rabbi David Basior (he/him) has been an active life-cycle officiant, public speaker, ritual leader, teacher of Torah, and advisor on Israel/Palestine and antisemitism for over two decades. Rabbi David was trained as a Rabbi by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College from where he holds a Masters in Hebrew Letters focusing on group work, text brokerage, organizational change leadership, rabbinic activism, and rabbinic counseling. Rabbi David has supported hundreds of Jews and allies by officiating weddings, funerals, memorial services, shiva/mourning practices, unveiling, baby welcoming, bar/bat/bet mitzvah, divorce, street actions, advocacy sessions, and general life transitions.

Rabbi David served as Rabbi for Mishkan Ha’am in Hastings-on-Hudson from 2012-2014 and for Kadima Reconstructionist Community in Seattle, WA on Duwamish Land from 2015-2026 and continues to serve that community as their Rabbi Emeritus. He has worked in a variety of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations from schools to hospitals to universities to advocacy organizations to food-coops. He is passionate about Palestinian liberation, combatting antisemitism, and economic and racial justice.

Rabbi David has worked with a number of community organizations in his nearly two decades in the Seattle area as an educator, spiritual leader, officiant, pastoral counselor, community organizer, interfaith partner, public speaker, and clergy activist.

Receiving his bachelor of science in business management from the University of Florida where he marched in the marching band, Rabbi David has served as co-chair of the Washington Coalition of Rabbis; was a founding member of the Jewish Voice for Peace Rabbinical Council, Rabbis for Ceasefire, and Synagogues Rising; has served as a leader in interfaith justice work; has worked on local task forces on antisemitism; and served as the co-chair of the Tikkun Olam Commission of Reconstructing Judaism. He is a public endorser of Real Rent Duwamish.

​Growing up in Westchester County, New York; Manhattan, NYC; and Parkland, Florida, Rabbi David's roots are Ashkenazi cultural familial Judaism. His ancestors empower him to build Jewish community with purpose, justice, healing, and solidarity. His partner and kids teach him humility, play, healthy living, and connection.   • We'll start with a free consultation to determine your needs and if we'll make great collaborators.

  • Pricing is based on both the project's scope and your desired timeline. Everything will be mutually agreed to as we develop the project and ultimately cost and fees will be upfront, transparent, and based at the nexus of access to wealth and value of the project.

  • Timelines depend on the project. Weddings are most often months in the making, while funerals may be only an intensive few days. Advising and consultation timelines will be negotiated to set us both up for success, and general counseling might be an initial few sessions before determining the longevity of that arrangement, based on your and my availability. Ultimately, I think of those I work with as building relationships for the long haul and they may evolve and change over time.
